KRISTINA GARNETT
JONI MARGAUX
UCLA World Arts & Cultures Dance Concentration c/o 2013 dancer turned costume designer! Kristina embarked on this clothing design journey back in 2014. She was working at a major retailer that was not very size inclusive. This inspired her to create pieces for her own closet that allowed room for sitting, breathing, eating, and other casual bodily functions that are seemingly often overlooked. Kristina mainly focuses on creating silhouettes that COMPLIMENT the body, rather than causing the wearer to feel as though they need to MODIFY their body to fit the garment. Her concepts are movement-based, obviously inspired by her 20-year dance background, with an emphasis on body positivity, unisex, and the "Universal Body", a term she coined through her brand, Joni Margaux, to redefine the "one size fits all" concept.
Kristina hails from Los Angeles, but is deeply tied to her Belizean roots, as she is the first generation American child of immigrant parents. "I don't make clothes to be the next high fashion, here today & gone tomorrow trend---I make clothes to remind YOU that you're amazing and already perfect because YOU ARE THE ONLY YOU THAT EXISTS!!!"

Mercy Emelike and Jasmine Harrison of Marielle Ejiama
MARIELLE|EJIAMA
Mercy Emelike and Jasmine Harrison started Marielle Ejiama because we’re dreamers and because we’re quite committed to having a say about what our world-of-tomorrow will be. We believe that how we make clothes is just as important as what we make. Our designs are suitable for the occasional (frequent) energetic living room dance party, switching between work/play/rest, and curling up in a comfy chair to laugh at internet memes.

RATE - ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES
LA native Fefe Browne is an alumnus of the Fashion Institute of Design
& Merchandising ( FIDM ). Her passion for fashion and design dates
back to her early childhood. With a keen eye for trends, Fefe learned
as a teen how to reconstruct clothes from both her and her mother's
closet to create her own original works. Her design aesthetic for RATE approaches the 90s era in a non- conventional way. RATE believes in reclaiming the grunge unkempt, casual chic style, and redeveloping silhouettes that are timeless pieces. She shares her
designs in photographs that capture the zeitgeist of the 90s.
